We recently received a batch of Alloy 960 for our online store. We decided to try to print Original Prusa i3 MK3 parts to test build 3d printer with Nylon CF based material. This is to test the strength of the material. We have also printed polycarbonate carbon fiber based filaments as well as Alloy 910 nylon based for parts that require more flex.
Here is the image of our printing. Printed with black custom Garolite based printing plate with settings of 110 deg C and extruder temperature of 275 and 280 deg C. Overall print out is very nice. For Alloy 910, we printed the black version at the same temperature and results is better layer bonding and shining black finishing.
The end results are very strong and rigid parts. Alloy 960 has high heat deflection temperature at 111 deg C and it can be used as printer parts in an enclosure. It is better than ABS and PETG in terms of strength and durability.
